TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Indonesian Military (TNI) Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Sumardjono has said that from the intelligence aspect, the Indonesian region is transparent to all intelligence activities by electromagnetic devices.
“Geo stationery orbiter (GSO) exploration above Indonesia by developed countries has caused Indonesia to become transparent to electromagnetic intelligence activities,” said the chief of staff when explaining about the potential of external threats to the Indonesian region during a hearing with the House’s Commission I in the Parliament Complex, Wednesday (6/2).
Developed countries, he said, through the use of sophisticated satellites have been able to reach Indonesian open spaces so the country can be spied upon with these devices.
In addition to espionage, Indonesia is also suspected to have been infiltrated by agents from overseas.
One region where agents are suspected of infiltrating is Papua.
The aim of this infiltration is to separate Papua from Indonesia.
Indonesia is also regarded as still possibly having to face separatism threats.
The areas that are suspected to have large opportunities for separatism are Papua, Nanggroe Aceh Darusalam and Maluku.
