House Deputy Chairman: BI Fund Suspects Should Be Arrested

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: House Deputy Chairman, Soetardjo Soerjogoeritno, asked BI Governor Burhanuddin Abdullah that the suspects in the case of BI’s fund flow to the House, “be arrested soon. Don’t delay it. If you let them go, they may run away,” he said at the Parliament Complex, Monday (5/2).

Soetardjo was concerned that the suspects will easily escape and even cause the evidence to disappear. “Don’t let the evidence disappear. The legal process can be hampered.”

Earlier, KPK suspected there were efforts to eliminate evidence. This was seen from the damaged seal where the documents were saved. KPK suspected that this was accomplished by the BI Governor Secretary.

Therefore he asked that the suspects be arrested soon. “Or else, who will take responsibility?” he said.

He also criticized the BI Governor’s replacement. “If possible, the BI Governor shouldn’t be SBY’s (President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono) in-law (BI Deputy Governor Aulia Pohan),” he said. According to him, this can cause negative feeling. “If the BI Governor is SBY’s in-law, it’s risky,” he said.
