US Congress Members Meet Yudhoyono

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has said that Indonesia has been undergoing a transformation period during the last few years.

“As a result of this transformation, Indonesia has become one of the largest democratic countries in the world,” said the president to six members of the United States Congress who met with him, as quoted by the presidential spokesperson for foreign affairs, Dino Patti Djalal, yesterday (19/2).

On the same occasion David Price, one of the delegates who met with the president, said that democracy throughout the world needed free general elections.

“Indonesia's democracy progress is irresistible,” he said.

Indonesia, according to Price, is also committed to democracy.
