KPK Questions Former BI Deputy Governors

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned two former Bank Indonesia (BI) deputy governors, Maman Soemantri and Maulana Ibrahim.
They were questioned for regarding the case involving the flow of BI funds to several House of Representatives (DPR) members.
According to KPK spokesperson Johan Budi SP, both of them came at around 10am WIB (Western Indonesian Time).
“They were questioned as witnesses,” said Johan at the KPK office in Jakarta (21/2, “They were actually BI officials.”
Maman and Maulana were mentioned in a letter approving the use and disbursement of the Indonesian Banking Development Foundation's funds amounting to Rp100 billion.
In addition to Maman and Maulana, KPK has also been examining Rusli Simanjuntak, Head of the BI Surabaya office, who was declared a suspect on January 25.
