Three Demonstrations Hold Up Jakarta's Traffic
Tuesday, 11 March, 2008 | 14:45 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: There will be seven demonstrations today (Tue, 11/03) in Jakarta. According to the Traffic Management Center (TMC) of the provincial police (Metro Jaya Polda), there will be around 500 people in three demonstrations. It is predicted that the three actions will interfere with the traffic.

Those using the street should be careful in using the street with demonstrations. Demonstrators usually ask for their attention and it blocks the traffic.

The first one will be at 08.00am – 03.00pm (Western Indonesian Time), at four locations of The National Commission on Human Rights at Jl. Latuharhari Central Jakarta, The House of Representative (DPR) and People's Consultative Assembly(MPR) in Jl. Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta, the Attorney General's Office in Jl. Sisingamangaraja, South Jakarta, Indonesian Police Headquarters , and in front of state palace.

The other demo will be at the same time, held by the National Movement and Concern for the Use of Drugs (GAPENTA) at the state palace, Jl. Merdeka Utara.

The final demo is at 09.00 am, at the Human Rights office, Jl. Latuharhari, and the news department of Metro TV in Kedoya West Jakarta.
