Friday, 14 March, 2008 | 13:48 WIB
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Singaporean Ambassador refuted the statement about Jeffrey Goh Soo Tong, a future investor in Lombok island, that he is the son of former Singaporean minister, Goh Chok Tong. “Goh Soo Tong is not the son of senior minister Goh Chok Tong,” said Yeo Tze Han, secretary of the Singaporean Ambassador, in Jakarta yesterday in a letter to Tempo yesterday.
Yeo said that senior minister Goh does not have a relationship with Jeffrey Goh. “The senior Goh does not even know him (Jeffrey Goy),” he added. This statement is a response to news in Koran Tempo on March 4, entitled “Former Singaporean PM's Son Looks to Lombok.”
As it was reported by Koran Tempo before, Jeffrey was received by the West Nusa Tenggara governor, Lalu Serinata, on March 3, 2008, together with Zaini AR, Head of Economic Secretariat bureau for West Nusa Tenggara; and Lalu Darmawan, head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). In that meeting, Jeffrey told of his interest to build 40 kilometers of toll road connecting Mataram to Lombok International Airport in Tana Awu, Central Lombok.
