Surabaya Citizens to have Finger Prints Registered

TEMPO Interactive, Surabaya: The Surabaya Municipal Government has started to register the finger prints of all its citizens.
This registration will help as regards data for poor citizens, so that aid for the poor community will be accurate.
“This has been planned for a long time, but it is being started today until the citizenship administration is more well-ordered,” said the Surabaya mayor, Bambang Dwi Hartono, after the implementation of collective finger print registration at his office, on Monday (17/3).
In cooperation with a forensic team from the medical faculty of Airlangga University, the registration will be done in all sub-district offices up until September.
The registration will be completed in December.
“So, in addition to local ID cards (KTP), all citizens will their finger prints registered”, added Bambang.
The finger-printing will be carried out with all citizens aged 11 years old and above.
