Prosecutor Wants Execution of Amrozi Immediately

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The prosecutor wants an execution immediately for three prisoners condemned to death for the first Bali Bombing: Amrozi, Imam Samudera, and Ali Gufron, after they officially canceled their judicial review.

“We also wish for immediate execution,” said deputy attorney general for criminal actions Abdul Hakim Ritonga at the Attorney General's Office (ATO), Friday (28/3).


On Monday (24/3), the Moslem team representing the three prisoners canceled the requirement for a judicial review of their clients. It was because the court of Denpasar refused the prosecutor’s request to present the three prisoners to the court.

However, Ritonga explained, there is a judicial procedure to follow. “We should respect their decisions to make a judicial move,” he said.


At the present, they are still waiting for an official letter from the Supreme Court that has the authority to stop the process of the judicial review for Amrozi and others.


The prosecutor will again confirm whether they will do a judicial review or not. “It is not because we delayed the execution,” he said.
