State Minister of National Development Planning: Pertamina Not Firm in Limiting Subsidized Fuel
Tuesday, 22 April, 2008 | 15:32 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: State Minister of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Board chairman Paskah Suzetta said Pertamina is not firm in limiting subsidized fuel. Since the change from pertamax to premium has been started, pertamax has been rarely on the market.

“Pertamina has not been firm in limiting premium consumed by luxury cars,” said Paskah, after attending a limited meeting at the presidential office, Monday (21/4).

Pertamina should limit and distribute subsidized premium efficiently in the market. Due to the scarcity of pertamax on the market, luxury cars use subsidized fuel and its consumption increases. “Pertamina should control the supply and distribute it efficiently,” he said.

Until March 2008, 4.58 million kiloliters of premium has been consumed while it should be only 4.24 million kiloliters for three months. The revised state budget decided 16,976 million kiloliters as a fuel-subsidy in a year.
