Vice President Sure National Exam Will Increase Educational Quality

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Vice president Jusuf Kalla has said he is certain that government believes the national examination with higher standard will increase the quality of Indonesian students.
Teachers are expected to seriously support this program.
Syamsuddin, Head of the Advisory Board for the Teachers Association for Islamic Elementary Schools throughout Indonesia, made this statement after meeting the Vice President on Wednesday (23/4).
“According to the Vice President, everyone has to take the higher standard exams with and be serious about this in order to improve the quality of our education,” he said.
“The Vice President also said that quality cannot be decided by the central or regional governments, but by seriousness,” continued Syamsuddin.
Vice president, he went on, also suggested that all schools have the same teaching curriculum, books, and teachers, so they will all have the same quality.
“The only difference is enthusiasm,” said Syamsuddin quoting Kalla.
