Indonesia Wins Three Gold Medals at Asian Physics Olympics

TEMPO Interactive, Mongolia: Indonesia won three gold medals at the 9th Asian Physics Olympics in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, between 20-28 April this year.
With this achievement, Indonesia was placed in second position after China.
Indonesia also won one silver medal, one bronze medal, and four honorable mentions.
The Indonesian students who won the gold medals are Adam Badra Cahaya (from SMAN 1 Jember), Rudy Handoko Tanin (from SMA Sutomo 1 Medan), and Kevin Winata (SMAK 1 Penabur Jakarta).
The silver medal was won by Thomas A. Nugraha Budi (from SMA 78 Jakarta) and the bronze medal by Tyas Kokasih (SMA Taruna Nusantara, Magelang).
The honorable mentions were won by Panji Achmari (SMAN 3 Bandung), Winson (SMAK 1 Penabur, Jakarta), Azzis Adi Suyono (SMAN 1 Cilacap), and Made Surya Adhiwirawan (SMAN 1 Denpasar).
Prof. Yohannes Surya, Ph.D, who accompanying the students, said the competition had more difficult problems compared to previous events.
“The standard perfect point is usually 30, but now it is 26 maximum. The experiments were also more difficult,” he told Tempo.
High school students from 18 Asian countries took part in the 9th Asian Physics Olympics.
