Work Experience in Australia for Headmasters of Islamic Elementary Schools

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Ten headmasters from Islamic elementary schools are going to Australia for ten days of work experience.
They will be placed in Islamic and non-Islamic schools to learn about education system there.
“Every headmaster represent a different province,” Firdaus Basyuni, director of the Islamic elementary school education system at the Religious Affairs department, told Tempo, on Wednesday (7/5).
According to Firdaus, the purpose of the program, which will be held in Sydney and Melbourne, is to provide wider experience for these headmasters to improve the quality of their schools.
Before leaving for Australia, they will first be studying English for two months in Malaysia.
“There are thirty headmasters in total on this program but we are only send 10 participants for the first stage of the program,” said Firdaus.
The headmasters come from Jakarta, South Sumatra, West Java, East Java, Central Java, the Riau archipelago, South Sulawesi, Banten, Gorontalo, and Lampung.
