Thursday, 08 May, 2008 | 12:51 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: JAKARTA –The Commission to Eradicate Corruption(KPK) interviewed former governor of Bank Indonesia Sudradjad Djiwandono yesterday. They also examined his house at Jalan Taman Radio Dalam, South Jakarta.

The head of KPK Antasari Azhar said Sudradjad was questioned as a witness in an alleged distribution from Bank Indonesia Liquidity Support(BLBI) to the House of Representatives (DPR)

The questioning of Sudrajad took place at the KPK office. Sudrajad and nine KPK investigators then went to his house for an examination that lasted for more than three hours.

The KPK and police mobile brigade took Sudradjad back to the KPK. Regarding what things have been confiscated from his house, “They only took documents,” he said. Antasari did not explain why KPK should examine Sudradjad's house. “Just watch us work,” he said.

The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) reported the misuse of BI funds that reached Rp100 billion. The funds are not only distributed to the DPR but also to pay the legal fees of BI senior officials examined for the BLBI case. According to the BPK, Sudradjad and his former deputy Iwan Prawiranata was paid with these funds. They were named suspects by the attorney general but the case was canceled.

Regarding the BI fund distribution, KPK cited three BI officials as suspects. They are former BI governor Burhanuddin Abdullah, Head of BI for Surabaya Rusli Simanjuntak, and BI judicial director Oey Hoey Tiong. Other suspects are Antony Zeidra, who is now vice governor for Jambi; and Hamka Yandhu, a DPR member.

KPK alleges the BI fund distribution to DPR was misused. Burhanuddin said the BI decision to send money to DPR as a collective decision. This case was reported by the BPK head Anwar Nasution to the KPK in 2006. The Coalition for Parliament's Image mentioned at least 16 members of the House's banking commission received the funds.

KPK also interviewed former member of the House's banking commission Chandra Wijaya. “I was investigated as a witness. Please ask the investigator for more information,” he said.
