About 28,000 Liters of Subsidized Cooking Oil is Distributed

TEMPO Interactive, Bekasi: As much as 28,153 liters of subsidized cooking oil is being distributed to poor families in Bekasi today.

The first stage of distribution is being executed in four sites of West Bekasi, East Bekasi, Jatiasih, and South Bekasi.

The Subdivision Head for the Economy and Development of Bekasi, Eman Sutarman, said the amount of subsidy for cooking oil is Rp 2,500 per liter. “The government buys the oil for Rp 10,500 per liter from the producer and sells it for Rp 8,000 per liter,” said Eman at the press conference today.

According to Eman, one poor family will have one liter of subsidized cooking oil. There are 6,479 poor families in West Bekasi; 8,676 in East Bekasi; 6,912 in Jatiasih, and 6,086 in South Bekasi.

The coupons to purchase subsidized cooking oil will be distributed by the regional government through the village. Poor families should show their family certificate and prove their family income is Rp500 thousand or less a month.
