TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Commission to Eradicate Corruption (KPK) is examining the wedding presents received by Hidayat Nur Wahid, Head of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) in order to find out if there was any possible gratification.
This examination was requested by Hidayat.
“If a present came from an entrepreneur, then it could automatically be classified as gratification and submitted to the state,” said KPK spokesperson Johan Budi at his office yesterday (13/5).
According to him, four members of KPK are recapitulating the results at Hidayat's house.
“We will give the report to Hidayat in thirty days,” said Johan.
Hidayat Nur Wahid had a wedding party for his second marriage to Diana Thalib Abbas on 11 May.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Jusuf Kalla acted as witnesses for the marriage ceremony.
The commission is arranging the regulation about gratification related to holiday events and wedding parties, with amounts between Rp500,000 and Rp1 million.
