IDI Suggests Doctors Provide Free Health Treatment
Wednesday, 14 May, 2008 | 15:03 WIB
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) has suggested that all doctors provide free or cheaper health treatment to patients on Indonesian Doctors’ Dedication Day on 20 May.
“This the moment for Indonesian doctors to dedicate themselves,” said IDI Chairman Fachmi Idris, at a press conference press at the Stovia building, the Museum of National Awakening.
The free treatment will be provided on 21 May as 20 May is a holiday.
Furthermore, he said IDI will present awards to older physicians who pledged national awakening day.
The free treatment cannot be compared to what older physicians did when Indonesian still fighting against colonialism.
