Drugs Worth Rp118 Billion are Destroyed

TEMPO Interactive, Tangerang: Narcotics and dangerous substances that are worth Rp118 billion were destroyed by fire at the front of the Office of Customs and Excise at Soekarno-Hatta airport, today.

“The drugs were confiscated from drug smugglers through Soekarno-Hatta airport in 2007 to 2008,” said Eko Darmanto, head of Action and Investigation of the Customs and Excise division of Soekarno -Hatta.

There are 485.4 grams of cocaine; 22,020 grams of crystal meth; and 8,387 ecstasy pills.

Sixteen cases of narcotics and dangerous substances were uncovered by customs and excise officers at Soekarno-Hatta airport in 2007-2008. The smuggling involves 14 foreigners and two Indonesians who have been named as suspects.
